Holiday for Kids' SakeWhat if every child experienced a little magic this holiday season?
It could be the start of something big. This holiday season, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island provided holiday meals for 112 families, as well as a bag filled with gifts and gift cards for the 219 children in those families.
The Holiday for Kids’ Sake program is an annual tradition for BBBSLI, and on December 18th, 56 volunteer drivers showed up at Arrow Transfer and Storage to pick up the gifts and holiday meals to deliver to the doorsteps of their assigned families. By 2PM, all of the families had been delivered to across Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Case Managers at BBBSLI select families from their caseload that would benefit from a little extra magic during the holidays, families in financial struggles or extenuating circumstances. They then select gifts and gift cards from the donations received by the agency for every child in every family on their list. Arrow Transfer and Storage in Hicksville donates the space to not only pack all these gifts, but to store them throughout the season as well as trucks to pick up 200+ boxes of food packed by Stop and Shop in Levittown the morning of the delivery.
